Peer review

Peer Review Policy

SYNEX: Journal of Mobility and Business Research follows a double-anonymized peer review process, in which both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation.

Review Process

  • Each submission is first screened by the editors to ensure its suitability for the journal’s aims and scope, as well as compliance with ethical and technical standards.
  • Manuscripts deemed suitable are typically sent to at least two independent reviewers for expert evaluation of their academic quality, originality, and contribution.
  • Final decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection are made by the editors, based on reviewers’ reports and the journal’s editorial standards.

Editorial Independence

Editors are not involved in decisions regarding manuscripts:

  • they have authored themselves,
  • authored by family members or close colleagues,
  • related to products, services, or organizations in which they have a personal or financial interest.

Such submissions will be handled independently, following the standard peer review procedure.

Appeals

Authors may submit a formal appeal to challenge an editorial decision, provided that the request is well-founded and supported by clear arguments. Appeals are considered once per submission and are evaluated by an independent editor or advisory committee. The appeal decision is final.

Special Issues and Article Collections

The peer review process for special issues and article collections follows the same rigorous procedures applied to regular submissions. Manuscripts are subject to double-anonymized peer review and are evaluated for originality, methodological quality, and contribution to the field.

Guest Editors may coordinate the review process for special issues or article collections by selecting appropriate reviewers and recommending editorial decisions. However, the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection rests with the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, who ensures that all articles meet the journal’s standards of quality, ethical publishing practices, and responsiveness to reviewers’ feedback.

This process guarantees that special issues and article collections are evaluated with the same level of integrity, impartiality, and academic rigor as all other submissions to the journal.
