Abstract

The growing global population has heightened the importance of safety in the transportation sector and underscored the significance of innovation in this field. Objective: The objective of this study is to highlight the importance of the concept of Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and to serve as a resource for future innovations based on the findings. Method: Thirty-three captain pilots and first officers working for Air Albania in Albania voluntarily participated in our study. Participants were given a 24-question survey developed by the author and asked to complete it. Statistical Analysis: The SPSS 26 (Made in the USA) statistical software was used in this study. It was assumed that the data followed a normal distribution, and it was decided to use parametric tests. Findings: The study found significant differences in the variables of receiving FDM training and how to better utilise FDM data based on the pilots’ rank. It was also found that there were significant differences in the use of FDM in the decision-making process based on age groups (p<0.005). Conclusion: The study concluded that there were significant differences based on the pilots’ ranks and age groups.
